Dhaka: Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain informed the Parliament that 37 government medical colleges have been established in 34 districts as part of efforts to strengthen human resource development and modernize medical and nursing education.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Minister made this announcement while responding to a question from ruling party lawmaker Lutfur Rahman in the House with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad in the chair. The districts with government medical colleges include Dhaka, Chattogram, Mymensingh, and others, totaling 34 districts.
