Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 25 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a spokesman of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) stated, "We recorded 25 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today." Out of these 25 new cases, 14 were hospitalised in Barishal division, five in Chattogram division, three in Dhaka division, two in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and one in Rajshahi division, as per a DGHS statement.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts this year, Bangladesh has reported four fatalities and 2,314 cases. In comparison, last year's dengue outbreak resulted in 413 deaths and affected 102,861 individuals across the country. Additionally, the year 2024 saw dengue claiming 575 lives and affecting 101,214 people.
