Dhaka: Bangladesh will host Pakistan for a two-match Test series next month, with matches scheduled in Mirpur and Sylhet as part of the ICC World Test Championship. The Pakistan team is set to arrive in Dhaka on May 3 ahead of the series. The first Test will begin on May 8 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, while the second Test will start on May 16 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tour was initially planned to include both ODI and Test series together. However, due to scheduling conflicts with the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the tour has been split into two phases. Bangladesh recently emerged victorious in a three-match ODI series against Pakistan with a 2-1 win.

The upcoming Tests hold significant importance for both teams in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle. Bangladesh last participated in the competition during their tour of Sri Lanka last year, where they faced a loss and secured a draw. The last Test series meeting between Bangladesh and Pakistan in 2023 saw Bangladesh achieve a historic clean sweep against Pakistan, a significant improvement from their previous record of managing just one draw in 13 matches against the same opponent.

In addition, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled the schedule for the forthcoming limited-overs series against Pakistan and Australia. The ODI matches are scheduled for June 9, 11, and 14, followed by three T20 Internationals on June 17, 19, and 21. The ODIs will commence at 11:00 am, while the T20 matches are slated to start at 2:00 pm.
