Dhaka: State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque has emphasized the critical role of youth involvement in national development and empowerment to build a prosperous Bangladesh. He stressed the importance of engaging all youths, regardless of political affiliation or opinion, in nation-building activities during a youth awareness meeting at the Department of Youth Development’s head office.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Aminul Haque highlighted that a long-term plan has been devised for the comprehensive development of the youth, with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman playing a significant role in its formation. He underscored the potential for transformative changes in the social system through active youth contributions to society.

The State Minister urged district-level officials to ensure timely attendance at their offices and monitor their subordinates to promote administrative transparency and dynamism. He stressed the necessity for all development projects to be completed within their allocated budgets and stipulated timeframes. Furthermore, he directed the immediate establishment of a ‘monitoring cell’ to verify the proper implementation of training programs at the upazila and district levels.

Aminul Haque also called on government officials to transcend political identities and prioritize national interests. He cautioned against using political identities for personal gain and emphasized the importance of integrity in government service. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, Director General of the Department of Youth Development, and attended by Youth and Sports Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam, along with youth development officers from various districts.
