Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 17 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a spokesman from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported, “We recorded 17 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today.” The breakdown of the new cases includes five hospitalizations in Barishal division, four in Chattogram division, one in Dhaka division, six in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and one in Sylhet division.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts this year, Bangladesh has reported four fatalities and 2,214 cases. In contrast, the previous year witnessed 413 fatalities and 102,861 cases across the country. Furthermore, projections for 2024 suggest a dengue toll of 575 lives, with 101,214 individuals affected.
