Ankara: Trkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) today proposed signing a party-to-party Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to deepen ties, marking a new dimension in political engagement between the two parties. The proposal was made when Vice Chairman, Head of Foreign Affairs, and Member of Parliament of AK Party Zafer Sirakaya held a meeting with Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister, Humayun Kabir, on the sidelines of the ‘Antalya Diplomacy Forum,’ in Trkiye.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Zafer Sirakaya congratulated Prime Minister Tarique Rahman during the meeting. He proposed signing a party-to-party Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at further deepening and strengthening relations between the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the AK Party.

The Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister noted that this is the first time the AK Party has made such a proposal to BNP as a political party in Bangladesh. The two sides also discussed the possibility of exchanging party-to-party delegation visits.
