Three More Die of Measles in 24 Hours as Cases Surge Nationwide

Dhaka: Three more patients died from measles across the country in the last 24 hours, while two additional deaths are suspected to be linked to the disease, according to the latest report from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). During the same period, 1,115 new suspected cases were recorded nationwide, including 127 cases confirmed through laboratory testing.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, from March 15 to April 17, a total of 3,192 measles cases have been confirmed, while 21,467 people have been identified as suspected cases. In the same timeframe, 11,243 patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment. Since March 15, 37 people have died from confirmed measles infections, while 174 deaths have been reported among suspected cases.



Dhaka Division reported the highest number of suspected infections, with 9,274 cases, including 1,965 confirmed cases. The health authorities continue to monitor the situation and are urging citizens to take preventive measures to curb the spread of the disease.
