Dinajpur: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested three assumed drug peddlers along with 1,759 pieces of yaba tablets from Polipara village under Parbatipur police station in Dinajpur on Saturday afternoon. A press release signed by RAB-13's Senior Assistant Director (Media) and Additional Superintendent of Police Biplab Kumar Goswami confirmed the information this noon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the detainees are Md Zikarul, 35, of village Kanchabari Konapara and Md Belal Mia, 38, of village Madaikhamar under Badarganj upazila of Rangpur, and Sakhina Begum, 36, of village Tikur under Nababganj police station of Dinajpur district. Acting on a tip-off, RAB-13's Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) from Rangpur conducted a raid at Polipara village. The team searched the bodies of the three individuals, seizing 1,759 yaba tablets and a motorcycle, and arrested them at the scene at 4:40 pm.
After filing a case in connection with the incident, the elite force handed over the seized drugs, the motorcycle, and the arrested individuals to Nababganj police station of Dinajpur district, the release added.
