Federation Cup Football Matches to Feature Brothers Union and Fakirerpool Showdown

Dhaka: Two matches of the Federation Cup football tournament will be held at different venues across the country tomorrow. The day’s Group A fixtures will see Brothers Union Club face off against Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla, while PWD Sports Club will take on Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 2:45 pm.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Brothers Union Club currently leads the group table with seven points from three matches. The Gopibagh outfit began their campaign with a goalless draw against Rahmatganj, followed by a 1-0 victory over Abahani Limited and a decisive 3-0 win against PWD SC. In contrast, Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club, yet to score any points, suffered a 4-2 defeat to Abahani Limited and a 2-0 loss to PWD Sports Club in their previous outings.

PWD SC holds the third position in the group with three points from two matches. The club won their opening m
atch against Fakirerpool 2-0 but fell to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brothers Union Club. Meanwhile, Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society, occupying the fourth spot, have garnered two points from two draws. They played a goalless draw with Brothers Union and managed a 1-1 draw against Abahani Limited in their second group match.

The upcoming matches are poised to be crucial for all teams involved as they vie for better standings in the Federation Cup’s Group A.
