PM Offers Ziarat at Maulana Bhasani’s Grave

Tangail: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today offered ziarat at the grave of Mazlum Jananeta Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani at Santosh in the Sadar Upazila here.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister arrived at the grave premises around 5:00 pm and offered fateha, as confirmed by PM’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman. The Prime Minister also conducted prayers seeking eternal peace for Maulana Bhasani’s departed soul.



The event was attended by notable figures including Liberation War Affairs Minister Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku, and lawmaker Abdus Salam Pintu. After the ziarat, the Prime Minister visited Maulana Bhasani’s former residence in Santosh and signed the visitors’ book.



Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister inaugurated a Baishakhi agricultural fair at the municipal park in the district town, where he visited various stalls. He also attended the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Farmer Card’ distribution programme at Shaheed Maruf Stadium in Sadar Upazila, digitally launching the programme at 12:22 pm.



The Prime Minister’s visit to Tangail, which began in the morning with his arrival by road from Dhaka, included offering Zohr prayers and having lunch at the Circuit House.
