13,500 Litres of Diesel Seized in N’ganj, Two Arrested

Narayanganj: A mobile court has seized around 13,500 litres of illegally stored diesel and two tanker lorries in Siddhirganj of the district. Two employees of a private company were also arrested on charges of illegal fuel trading.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the drive was conducted on Friday evening at the Burma Stand area in Siddhirganj. It was led by Narayanganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) SM Foyez Uddin, with support from law enforcement agencies. The arrested individuals were identified as Md Jasim, 38, of the Godnail area, and Mohammad Hossain Bhuiyan, 30, of the Burma Stand area. They are employees of Mehedi Enterprise.



Mobile court sources revealed that the company was illegally selling fuel to customers using tanker lorries fitted with meters, without proper authorization or valid documents, violating existing laws and regulations. The seized diesel and tanker lorries were handed over to Siddhirganj Police Station. The UNO stated that drives against illegal fuel storage and trading will continue.
