Kurigram: A battery-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed and four others were injured in a road accident in Ulipur upazila of the district on Saturday noon. The deceased was identified as Nur Amin, 40.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred on the Chilmari-Kurigram road adjacent to the Ulipur Central Bus Terminal around 12 noon. A tractor collided with a battery-run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. The impact left the driver, Nur Amin, dead on the spot and injured four passengers. Ulipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saeed Ibne Siddique confirmed the incident.
“The auto-rickshaw passenger Shiuli Begum has been sent to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition,” OC Siddique stated. He added that necessary legal action is underway regarding the incident.
