Dhaka: Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain has announced in parliament that the government is initiating steps to recruit approximately 100,000 health workers, aligning with the current government’s election manifesto. This was revealed in response to a question from treasury bench member Ikramul Bari Tipu, representing Naogaon-4.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the minister emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure sufficient manpower to enhance healthcare services and maintain consistent service delivery nationwide. The recruitment drive is part of a broader strategy to address the healthcare sector’s needs.
The minister highlighted recent recruitment efforts, stating that on January 22, 2,984 assistant surgeons and 279 dental surgeons were recruited through the 48th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination. Additionally, 98 assistant surgeons (MBBS) and 22 dental surgeons were appointed through the 44th BCS. Previously, on December 18, 162 assistant surgeons were appointed via the 27th BCS.
