Dhaka: Two more children have succumbed to measles, while 974 new suspected cases have been identified in the last 24 hours ending at 8am today. The information comes from a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during this period, 10 suspected deaths were reported, and 54 cases were confirmed through laboratory testing. From March 15 to April 5, the total number of confirmed measles cases has reached 929, with the number of suspected cases at 7,610.
In the same timeframe, 17 individuals have died from confirmed measles infections, while 113 deaths have been reported from suspected cases. The Dhaka Division has recorded the highest number of suspected measles cases, with 3,259 children infected. Out of these, 468 cases have been confirmed as measles through laboratory tests.
Additionally, from March 15 to April 5, a total of 3,380 patients have recovered from the disease.
