Around 5,000 Receive Free Eye Treatment in Bagerhat

Bagerhat: Around 5,000 people received free eye treatment services at a day-long programme held in Rampal upazila of the district today. The initiative aimed to provide essential eye care to the community, addressing the needs of underprivileged individuals who might not have access to such services otherwise.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the programme was organized with the slogan “Prevent blindness – let the light return to the eyes, let the smile bloom in life” at the premises of Rampal Perikhali Model High School. The event was spearheaded by Sheikh Faridul Islam, State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Member of Parliament for the Bagerhat-3 constituency.



During the programme, distressed and underprivileged people of the area received free eye examinations, medical advice, and necessary medicines. A team of expert eye specialists was present to offer treatment services, ensuring that attendees received comprehensive care.



Speaking as the chief guest, Sheikh Faridul Islam emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring healthcare services reach the doorsteps of the people. He added that such welfare-oriented initiatives will continue in the future, highlighting the government’s dedication to improving healthcare accessibility for all citizens.
