Two Fined Tk 70,000 Over Seizure of 2,000 Litres of Fuel in Bhola

Bhola: Two individuals have been fined Tk 70,000 after the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) detained them while transporting about 2,000 litres of fuel oil illegally in Bhola.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the operation was carried out based on a tip-off. A team from the BCG Bhola Base conducted a special drive near the Bheduria ferry ghat in Sadar upazila around 5 pm on Thursday, as stated by BCG media officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan.



During the operation, the two individuals were found transporting 2,000 litres of fuel oil illegally in a steel-bodied boat. The seized fuel was later sold at market price at A Rahman and Sons Filling Station under the supervision of the executive magistrate of Sadar upazila.



The offenders were fined Tk 70,000 and then released. The proceeds from the sale and fine have been deposited into the state treasury. The BCG announced that such operations will continue to maintain stability in the country’s energy market.
