Gazipur: Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Israil Howlader today announced that special training programs will be organized for police personnel to enhance the quality of investigations and ensure proper handling of complaints and cases. He emphasized that effective crime control and the delivery of speedy justice are reliant on strengthening the investigation capacity of the police force.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Commissioner Howlader made these remarks during an Eid reunion and a views-exchange meeting with journalists at the GMP conference room. The discussion covered topics including law and order, crime control, and the challenges faced in investigations.
In response to questions, the GMP commissioner highlighted that the lack of accurate information often compromises evidence presentation in court, leading to delays in justice and enabling criminals to exploit loopholes. He underscored the importance of investigators thoroughly analyzing crime patterns, the timing and location of occurrences, evidence collection, and potential links to previous incidents.
The commissioner also pointed out that modern crime trends necessitate the use of technology, intelligence, and data analysis to identify criminals and uncover their motives. He acknowledged the challenges posed by manpower shortages and a lack of vehicles, which sometimes impede police operations, but assured that the police are making their best efforts to address these issues.
The meeting was attended by Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Mohammad Taherul Haque Chowhan, Deputy Police Commissioner (Headquarters and Finance) Md. Zahid Hossain Bhuiyan, PPM, Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime, South Division) Mohammad Mohiuddin Ahmed, and Assistant Police Commissioner (Staff Officer to Police Commissioner) Chowdhury Md. Tanvir.
