Bagerhat: The district administration and District Sports Organisation today felicitated international judo player Fabia Bushra for winning a gold medal in a competition held in Nepal. The ceremony took place at Bagerhat Stadium, where Bushra was honoured with a crest and a financial award. In addition, a month-long training programme in football, swimming, and athletics was inaugurated during the event.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Golam Md. Baten and Superintendent of Police Md Hasan Chowdhury presented the awards to Bushra. In his address, the deputy commissioner acknowledged Bushra’s achievement, stating that it has brought recognition to the country. He expressed hope that more girls would be inspired to participate in national and international competitions.
The district administration and the district sports organization pledged to provide comprehensive support to athletes in the region. The event was attended by officials from the district administration, sports organizers, coaches, and trainees.
