Dhaka: A motorbike rider was killed in a tragic road accident on the U-loop Bridge in the Badda area of the capital this afternoon. The deceased, an unidentified youth estimated to be around 25 years old, was found critically injured at the scene of the accident, which occurred at approximately 2:00 in the afternoon, according to police and local sources.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, locals quickly responded, rescuing the injured rider and rushing him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Unfortunately, the on-duty doctor declared him dead at approximately 3:00 pm. Badsha Mia, a passer-by who assisted in transporting the victim to the hospital, recounted hearing screams on the bridge and rushing to the scene to find the young man lying on the road. Despite efforts to save him, medical personnel confirmed his death shortly after arrival.

Initial reports suggest the accident might have resulted from a collision between the motorbike and a CNG auto-rickshaw, although the exact cause has yet to be determined. The absence of any identification in the victim’s wallet has left his identity unknown at the time of reporting.

Inspector Mohammad Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police camp, stated that the body has been kept at the hospital morgue. The concerned police station has been informed, and further legal procedures are underway. Police are actively working to identify the victim and investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
