Dhaka: A total of 386 mobile courts were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours to prevent illegal hoarding of fuel oil and ensure a smooth supply system. During these operations, 214 cases were filed, and fines amounting to Tk 962,500 were realized, as stated in a press release by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, three individuals were sentenced to six months’ imprisonment in Nilphamari district as part of the crackdown. The press release emphasized the continuation of these operations to maintain an uninterrupted fuel oil supply and deter any irregularities.
The release further noted that executive magistrates are actively conducting mobile courts in various regions, including Dhaka. Additionally, the public has been urged to report any irregularities or suspicious activities to the designated vigilance team numbers to aid in the crackdown efforts.
