11 Districts Receive New Deputy Commissioners

Dhaka: The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to 11 districts of the country. The districts affected by these changes include Rajshahi, Chuadanga, Khulna, Madaripur, Brahmanbaria, Chandpur, Habiganj, Narsingdi, Meherpur, Lalmonirhat, and Bandarban.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on Sunday, announcing these appointments, which will come into immediate effect. The notification details the appointments of several Deputy Secretaries to their new posts across the country.

Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Kazi Shahidul Islam, has been designated as the DC of Rajshahi. Meanwhile, Lutfun Nahar, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, will take over as the DC of Chuadanga. In Khulna, Deputy Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Miju Hara Jannat, has been appointed as the new DC. Marzina Akter, a Deputy Secretary from the Finance Division, will serve as the DC of Madaripur.

In Brahmanbaria, Md Abu Sayeed, Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Government Printing Press, has been appointed as DC. The Energy and Mineral Resources Division’s Deputy Secretary, Ahmed Ziaur Rahman, will take up the role of DC in Chandpur. Habiganj will have GM Sarfaraz, Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet Division, as its new DC.

Deputy Secretary Israt Jahan Keya from the Ministry of Labour and Employment has been posted as the DC of Narsingdi. Shilpi Rani Roy, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, is the new DC of Meherpur. Md Rashedul Haque Pradhan, Deputy Secretary of Bangladesh Power Development Board, has been appointed as the DC of Lalmonirhat.

Additionally, Md Saniul Ferdous, Deputy Project Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Land Management Automation Project, will take on the responsibilities of DC in Bandarban.
