Dhaka: The government has appointed new secretaries in 12 ministries and divisions. The Ministry of Public Administration has issued the necessary gazette notifications regarding these appointments.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Additional Secretary Yasmin Parveen of the National Defence College has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. Zakaria, who previously served as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority and an Additional Secretary, has been made the Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division. Additionally, Moha Raihan Kausar, an Additional Secretary from the Ministry of Land, has taken on the role of Secretary for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Barrister Md. Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, formerly the Director General of the Wage Earners’ Welfare Board, has assumed the position of Secretary at the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat. The role of Secretary for the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment has been filled by Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Mokhter Ahmed. Meanwhile, Fahmida Akhter, an Additional Secretary from the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
In further appointments, Kaniz Mowla, the Secretary of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, has been designated as the Secretary of the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED). Md. Delwar Hossain, an Additional Secretary from the Ministry of Home Affairs, is now the Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. Dr. Md. Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan, previously a Senior Secretary on a contractual basis at the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, has joined the Planning Commission as a Member (Senior Secretary) on a contractual basis. Nasrin Jahan, the Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, has also been appointed as a Member (Secretary) of the Planning Commission.
Kazi Anwar Hossain, an Additional Secretary from the Local Government Division, has been transferred and posted as the Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Division. Additionally, S M Ebadur Rahman has been appointed as the Secretary of the Economic Relations Division on a contractual basis for a year from the day of joining.
