Paba: A rural Eid celebration and merit reception program was held in a festive atmosphere in Paba Upazila of Rajshahi. The event took place on Monday afternoon at the Bagsara School playground, organized by Hamediya Sabuj Sangha.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Member of Parliament for Rajshahi-3 constituency, Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, attended the event as the chief guest. On the occasion of the rural Eid celebration, prizes were distributed among the winning children who participated in various categories. In his speech as the chief guest, MP Shafiqul Haque Milon highlighted that rural Eid means traditional village entertainment, which enhances the joy of Eid. He expressed concern that in the current mobile-dependent era, children are gradually moving away from these traditional forms of entertainment and urged the organizers to continue arranging such programs regularly.
He further stated that young children enjoy such events the most and noted that people from Dhaka and other cities across the country come to villages to enjoy this kind of traditional entertainment. He called on all individuals to remain aware of preserving such a cultural environment.
The event was presided over by former councilor of Ward No. 4 of Nowhata Municipality, Nazim Uddin Molla. The special guest at the program was former mayor of Nowhata Municipality, Alhaj Sheikh Mukbul Hossain. Others present included former general secretary of Nowhata Municipality Mamunur Rahman, former president of Paba Jubo Dal Mortaza Ali, organizing secretary of Nowhata Municipal BNP Saidur Rahman, and BNP leader Kazi Azizul Islam, among others.
