Dhaka: On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, Maulana Mamunul Haque, Amir of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, and Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed, Secretary General, have extended their heartfelt greetings and felicitations to the people of Bangladesh and the global Muslim Ummah. They conveyed the greetings today in a joint statement.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the leaders emphasized that the month-long fasting of Ramadan teaches self-restraint, justice, and piety, and that Eid serves as a vital occasion to implement these teachings in personal, social, and state life. They expressed concern over the current global unrest, highlighting the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine and Iran, which are becoming increasingly worrisome.
The Khelafat Majlis leaders lamented the loss of countless innocent lives and the humanitarian crises affecting many, noting that for Muslims in these regions, Eid has become a sorrowful occasion. They also acknowledged the plight of many Bangladeshis living abroad who are compelled to observe Eid amid uncertainty and anxiety.
The statement urged the wealthy in society to stand by the poor, helpless, and deprived, emphasizing the true lessons of Eid-sacrifice, equality, and brotherhood-so that the joy of Eid can be shared by all. The leaders prayed for overall peace, stability, and welfare of the country, calling for unity and collective effort.
At the same time, they prayed to Almighty Allah to free the Muslim Ummah from all kinds of crises and to establish peace and justice in the world.
