Rajshahi: A man and his minor son were killed in a road accident in the Baneshwar area on the Rajshahi-Dhaka highway under Puthia upazila today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased were identified as Md Kawsar, 35, son of Delowar Hossain, and his five-year-old son Redowan. They were residents of the Mougachi area. The accident occurred around 1:30 pm in the Baneshwar Kolahata area when a sand-laden drum truck collided head-on with a motorcycle carrying the victims.
Local sources reported that the father and son were returning home from Shibpur on a motorcycle. As they reached Baneshwar Kolahata, an oncoming truck crashed into them, leaving both dead on the spot.
Locals rushed to the scene and attempted rescue efforts before informing law enforcement agencies. A shadow of grief has descended on the area following the tragic deaths.
