Dhaka: Prime Minister's Assistant Private Secretary-2, Abdur Rahman Suny, has been appointed as the representative of Dhaka-17 lawmaker Tarique Rahman, who currently serves as the country's Prime Minister and BNP chairman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the appointment was formalized through a letter signed by Prime Minister's Principal Secretary A B M Abdus Sattar. The decision follows Tarique Rahman's victory in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election on February 12, 2026, where he contested and won in both Bogura-6 and Dhaka-17 constituencies. Subsequently, Rahman chose to vacate the Bogura-6 seat and took the oath as a Member of Parliament from Dhaka-17.
