Dinajpur: All commercial activities, including import and export, will be closed at Hili Land Port in Dinajpur for 10 consecutive days on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Qadr, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Independence Day.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the decision was made by the Hili Customs Clearing and Forwarding (C and F) Agents Association, which announced that all commercial activities through this port will be halted from March 18 to March 27.
Commercial activities are set to resume from March 28, as confirmed by Sakhawat Hossain Shilpi, the General Secretary of the Hili Land Port Import Exporters Association, in a press release. Despite the suspension of commercial activities, the movement of passport-holding passengers between the two countries will remain unaffected.
Md. Yusuf Ali, the Plant Officer of the Customs Department of Hili Land Customs Station, stated that arrangements have been made to maintain internal official activities of the customs on a limited scale during the holiday period.
