Washington: US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has issued a stern warning to Iran, declaring that the country will face unprecedented retaliation if it disrupts oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. The statement was made during a press conference where Hegseth emphasized the potential consequences of any Iranian action aimed at blocking the vital waterway.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Hegseth stated that Iran would be "hit harder than ever" should it attempt to interfere with the flow of oil. He also mentioned a recent phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which it was clearly communicated that Russia should avoid involvement in the ongoing conflict with Iran.
