Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has organized a comprehensive two-day workshop specifically designed for its Members of Parliament (MPs), with a focus on those elected for the first time. The workshop aims to equip them with a deeper understanding of parliamentary procedures, including legislative bills, budget discussions, and the functioning of standing committees.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the sessions will be conducted by experienced former bureaucrats, academicians, and previous members of parliament. The workshop intends to outline the responsibilities of MPs and explore the strategic roles they can undertake to bolster parliamentary practices and improve the efficiency of ministerial operations.

The initiative is set against the backdrop of President Mohammed Shahabuddin’s forthcoming convening of the first session of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad on March 12 at 11 am. The training program has been strategically scheduled to prepare newly elected public representatives and ministers in anticipation of this session.

Scheduled for March 6 and 7, the workshop will take place at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan. BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is anticipated to inaugurate the event, as confirmed by BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.

The first day, Friday, March 6, will feature two sessions: a morning session from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm for ministers, state ministers, and advisers, followed by an afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. MPs from Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka divisions, and Faridpur district will attend on this day.

The following day, March 7, will see participation from MPs representing Dhaka district, Mymensingh, and the remaining MPs from the Dhaka division and Faridpur district in the morning session. The afternoon session will welcome MPs from the Sylhet, Cumilla, and Chattogram regions.
