DNC Arrests Drug Peddler with Huge Yaba Tablets in Gazipur

Gazipur: The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in a special drive has arrested one drug peddler identified as Md Emdadul Haque, 36, with 10,000 pieces of Yaba tablets.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrest was made in a special operation conducted by the DNC.



The DNC apprehended Haque after conducting a search on a Dhaka to Mymensingh bound passenger bus named ‘Alam Asia’ in the Shirirchala Bagher Bazar area of Joydebpur on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway last evening, as stated in a press release issued today. In addition to the Yaba tablets, a mobile phone, used for trading the contraband items, was also seized from his possession.



Initial interrogation revealed that the arrestee had been involved in the wholesale trade of banned narcotics, specifically Yaba tablets, in the Gazipur area for an extended period. A case has been filed against him with Joydebpur Police Station in connection with the incident.
