PM Extends Support Again for Cancer Treatment of Martyred Abdullah’s Brother

Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has once again provided financial assistance for the treatment of Mahmudullah Bin Jisan, the younger brother of martyred Abdullah Bin Zahid, who is battling cancer. On behalf of ‘Amra BNP Poribar’, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism and BNP Treasurer M Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP, handed over the financial support to Abdullah’s mother at her residence in Gulshan on Sunday evening.



According to United News of Bangladesh, Abdullah Bin Zahid was killed in firing by law enforcement agencies during the student-people’s mass movement in 2024. His younger brother, Jisan, was later diagnosed with stage-three colon cancer and has been undergoing treatment since then. The Prime Minister has taken full responsibility for Jisan’s treatment. Earlier, the costs of his chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and other medical expenses were borne by ‘Amra BNP Poribar’.



A few days ago, Jisan’s condition suddenly worsened. Following doctors’ advice, he underwent further medical tests and began additional medication. Financial support for this latest phase of treatment is also being provided by Tarique Rahman. Abdullah’s mother expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister and ‘Amra BNP Poribar’ for their continued support during this difficult time.



Amra BNP Poribar Member Secretary and agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, its members Masud Rana Liton, Mustakim Billah, and Shakil Ahmed, Jatiya Press Club Managing Committee Member Jahidul Islam Rony, businessman and young entrepreneur Barrister Shahadat Bin Zaman Shovon, Executive Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin AKM Manjurul Islam, Deputy Editor of The Daily Sun Mohammad Al Amin, and senior reporter of Sangbad Pratidin Enamul Haque, among others, were present.



Abdullah Bin Zahid was shot dead on the night of August 5, 2024. Fourteen days after losing her elder son, his mother came to know that her 14-year-old younger son had been diagnosed with stage-three colon cancer.
