Narsingdi: A Narsingdi court on Sunday placed seven people, including the prime accused, on an eight-day remand in a case filed over the rape and murder of a teenage girl in Narsingdi district.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Narsingdi Judicial Magistrate Md Mehedi Hasan passed the order when police produced the accused before the court with a ten-day remand prayer for each. Omar Kaiyum, the investigating officer of the case, presented them to the court with the remand request.
Police arrested Nur Mohammad Nura, the prime accused, from Mawna Intersection in Gazipur on Saturday. Hazrat Ali, another accused, was arrested from Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district on the same day. So far, seven out of the nine accused in the murder case have been apprehended.
The incident involves a 15-year-old girl who was reportedly abducted by several young men in the presence of her father and was later found dead in Madhabdi upazila of Narsingdi district on Thursday. A case has been filed against nine individuals in connection with the crime.
