Sylhet: Power supply will remain suspended for nine hours in several areas of Sylhet on Saturday due to annual emergency repair, maintenance work and tree pruning. The Sales and Distribution Division-1 of the Sylhet Power Development Board announced the outage in a notice issued on Thursday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, electricity supply under the Lakkatura Stadium 33/11 KV substation will remain suspended from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday. The affected areas include the 11 KV Ghopashal feeder under the Lakkatura 33/11 KV substation, 11 KV Kakuarpar feeder, 11 KV Osmani Airport Express feeder area, Osmani Airport residential area, Kakuarpar, Sylhet Club, Faridabad Housing, Adventure World, Abdani, Barashala Bazar Mosque area, Porjatan area, Farinabad, Silver City, Kewachhara, Hiluachhara Tea Garden, Ghopashal, Mahaldik, Umdarpara, Alaibohor, Lilapara, Dapnatila, Saheber Bazar, Kalahal, Lalbagh, Pirgaon, Chalia, Ratilila, Salutikar Ghat and adjacent areas.
However, the authorities said power supply may be restored earlier if the work is completed before the scheduled time. They apologized for the temporary inconvenience.
