Noakhali: Kaniz Fatema, the wife of BNP Chairman’s advisor and former opposition chief whip, Zainul Abdin Farooq, was laid to eternal rest at her family graveyard in Yarpur village of Senbag upazila. Her namaz-e-janaza took place at approximately 11 am at the Shibpur High School ground in the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Kaniz Fatema, aged 73, passed away while undergoing treatment in the ICU of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday, February 25, at 10:40 am. Her first namaz-e-janaza was conducted yesterday in Dhaka at House No. 43, Lake Road, Nikunja-1, after Zohr prayers.
Prominent figures, including Noakhali-5 MP Fakhrul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, Police Superintendent T.M. Mosharraf Hossain, and District BNP Convener Mahbub Alamgir Alo, were present at the janaza. BNP leaders, relatives, and well-wishers expressed grief and prayed for the eternal peace of her soul.
