Dhaka: Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced that the government is set to initiate the recruitment process for 10,000 police constables. Necessary measures are being implemented to bolster the police force, as stated by the Minister during a briefing at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Minister emphasized that instructions have been issued to expedite the recruitment process to fill 180 vacant police sergeant positions. The recruitment for these posts will be conducted through proper examinations shortly. Additionally, the Minister mentioned that sub-inspectors (SIs) and assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) will be recruited via the Bangladesh Public Service Commission.
The Home Minister also highlighted that law and order committees at district and upazila levels have been reformed. An office order related to this restructuring was issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs earlier in the day. Furthermore, directives have been issued to develop and execute plans aimed at enhancing the law and order situation.
