Dhaka: Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced that 2,701 police constables will be recruited urgently to address the existing manpower shortage in the police force. This decision aims to improve the efficiency of law enforcement agencies and restore public confidence in their operations.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Home Minister emphasized that restoring law and order is a top priority for the government. He highlighted ongoing efforts to make law enforcement more people-friendly and aligned with public expectations. The minister also issued a stern warning that any interference with police duties, whether for political or social reasons, will not be tolerated.
Additionally, the Home Minister assured that police activities would be closely monitored to prevent any adverse impact on the public. A review of firearms issued during the previous government will be conducted to ensure compliance with legal distribution standards.
