Dhaka: Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam on Monday reiterated the government's determination to boost infrastructural development while curbing waste in construction efforts to benefit the nation.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the minister emphasized the importance of prioritizing national interests by eliminating unethical practices and ensuring sincere efforts to prevent waste in construction projects. Speaking at the closing ceremony of a seven-day induction training course for 32 newly recruited officers of the 44th BCS (Roads and Highways) cadre, Shaikh Rabiul Alam urged the officials to engage fully in their roles post-training. He highlighted the state's investment in developing engineers to meet national needs and encouraged them to keep this responsibility in mind.
State Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping Habibur Rashid highlighted the importance of road safety for Bangladesh's security. He stressed the need for uninterrupted traffic flow, reasonable construction costs, and safe infrastructure to avoid public inconvenience.
Habibur Rashid expressed hope that both new and experienced officials would work together under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to create a safe and humane Bangladesh. Another State Minister, Md. Razib Ahsan, also congratulated the new officers, expressing confidence in their ability to serve the country with skill and professionalism.
The closing ceremony, presided over by Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division Dr Mohammed Ziaul Haque, was attended by Chief Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department Syed Moinul Hasan and Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited Faruk Ahmed, according to a PID handout.
