Chapainawabganj: Train communication on the Rahanpur-Rajshahi route in Chapainawabganj remained suspended as four wagons of an oil-laden train derailed at Amnura Railway Junction in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Thursday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Hasibul Hasan, Station Master of Amnura Railway Junction, stated that the train was transporting oil from Khulna to the Amnura Power Plant. The derailment occurred when the train reached Amnura Junction, causing four wagons to veer off the tracks around 4:45 am. This incident has disrupted train movement on the Rohanpur-Rajshahi route.
A relief train from Ishwardi Railway Junction arrived at the scene around 10 am and is currently conducting a salvage operation. The station master indicated that train services will resume once the salvage work is completed.
