DMP Honours Top Performers at January Ceremony

Dhaka: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has recognized its top-performing units and officers for January 2026 in a ceremony highlighting excellence in maintaining law and order, crime prevention, and public safety across the capital. The awards were presented by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali at the January Monthly Crime Review Meeting held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh here today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Motijheel Division emerged as the best among crime divisions for its performance in crime control and law enforcement activities during January. Hazaribagh Police Station was named the best police station for its achievements in maintaining public safety and ensuring effective policing in its jurisdiction.



In the intelligence category, DB-Wari Division was awarded as the best division, while Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of the Lalbagh Zonal Team of DB-Lalbagh Division, was recognized as the best team leader. In traffic management, Traffic-Mirpur Division secured the top position among traffic divisions for its role in regulating traffic and improving road discipline across the city.



Among individual officers, Muhammad Al Amin Sarkar, Assistant Police Commissioner of Khilgaon Zone, was selected as the best Assistant Police Commissioner. Sub Inspector (SI) Md. Hafizur Rahman of Bhatara Police Station and SI Mohammad Saifur Rahman of Paltan Police Station were jointly awarded as the best Sub-Inspectors.



Assistant SI Debashish Chakraborty of Khilgaon Police Station and ASI Rakibul Hasan of Mohammadpur Police Station were jointly recognized as the best Assistant Sub-Inspectors. Sergeant Harun Or Rashid of Darus Salam Traffic Zone and Sergeant S M Hasan Mahmud of Wari Traffic Zone were jointly named the best traffic sergeants.
