Dhaka: Chinese Premier Li Qiang today extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on his inauguration, reaffirming Beijing’s support for Bangladesh’s new government. In a congratulatory message, Premier Li Qiang conveyed his warm wishes as Prime Minister Tarique Rahman assumed office.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Li emphasized the longstanding friendship between China and Bangladesh, noting that the two nations are close neighbors and Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partners. He highlighted that friendly exchanges between the countries date back several decades.
Li Qiang recalled that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 51 years ago, Beijing and Dhaka have consistently respected each other, treated one another as equals, and pursued mutually beneficial cooperation, setting a fine example of state-to-state relations.
The Chinese Premier reaffirmed China’s support for the new Bangladeshi administration in ensuring smooth governance and national development. He expressed readiness to work closely with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and looked forward to strengthening cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Li voiced confidence that joint efforts would elevate the China-Bangladesh Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership to new heights, delivering greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
