Ready to Work with PM Tarique to Enhance Dhaka-Beijing Cooperation: Chinese PM

Dhaka: Congratulating Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Chinese Premier of the State Council Li Qiang on Tuesday expressed his readiness to collaborate with the Bangladeshi leader to further the long-standing friendship and enhance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between the two nations.



According to United News of Bangladesh, Li Qiang emphasized the importance of continued exchanges across all sectors, aiming to elevate the Bangladesh-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership to a new level. This advancement is intended to bring greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.



In his message, Li Qiang highlighted that China and Bangladesh are neighbors with a history of mutual respect and cooperation, celebrating 51 years of diplomatic relations. The relationship between the two countries has been marked by equality, mutually beneficial cooperation, and win-win outcomes, serving as an exemplary model for international relations.



Additionally, Li Qiang expressed the Chinese government’s support for the new Bangladeshi government under Tarique Rahman, who was sworn in as the country’s new Prime Minister on Tuesday afternoon. The oath was administered by President Mohammed Shahabuddin at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban around 4:15pm. Earlier in the day, the BNP Parliamentary Party elected Tarique Rahman as leader of the party’s parliamentary party during a meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
