Dhaka: BNP-nominated candidate Anisur Rahman has been unofficially elected from the Madaripur-3 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election. Rahman secured 96,188 votes, running under the party symbol 'Sheaf of Paddy'. His victory marks a significant moment for the BNP in this constituency.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rahman's closest competitor, Md Rafiqul Islam, who was nominated by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, garnered 84,646 votes. The announcement of these results was made at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre located at Nirbachan Bhaban in the Agargaon area of the capital.
