Dhaka: BNP-nominated candidate Alamgir Muhammad Mahfuz Ullah Farid has been unofficially elected from the Cox’s Bazar-2 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election, securing 1,25,543 votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahfuz Ullah’s closest rival, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, received 91,889 votes. The announcement of the results took place at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon area.
