Dhaka: BNP-nominated candidate Aninda Islam Amit has been unofficially elected from Jashore-3 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election, securing 2,01,339 votes. His nearest rival, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Abdul Kader, received 1,87,463 votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the constituency’s referendum, a total of 2,90,758 votes were cast in favor of ‘Yes’ while 93,430 votes were for ‘No’. The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon area today.
