Bangladesh: Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis candidate Syed Uddin Ahmad Hanzala has been elected unofficially from Madaripur-1 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election. He secured 64,909 votes while his nearest rival BNP candidate Nadira Akther received 64,524 votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the referendum, 1,00,797 voters cast ‘Yes’ votes while 65,418 others cast ‘No’ votes in this constituency. The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon in the capital today.
