Dhaka: Election Commissioner Brigadier General (retd) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah today announced that the 13th parliamentary polls and referendum are being held without incident across the country. “I cast my vote for the first time. Due to my service, I never got the opportunity to exercise my voting rights before. I am happy to see that the election is being conducted very peacefully nationwide,” he said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Election Commissioner made these remarks while casting his vote with family members at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College. He observed that approximately 150 voters had already cast their ballots within the first hour at this center. Interacting with polling agents, he reported that they were pleased with the polling atmosphere.
Sanaullah noted that voters were entering and exiting the polling stations smoothly after casting their votes, and he expressed optimism that the peaceful conduct would continue throughout the election process.
Providing an overview of the situation nationwide, the commissioner shared that the voting process was progressing smoothly and without disturbance. He highlighted that some rural areas were experiencing high voter turnout and, importantly, no reports of disruptions had surfaced.
