Dhaka: Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter today stated that voters are able to cast their votes freely due to the government’s comprehensive efforts to ensure a fair electoral environment. She emphasized that the interim government had focused on three primary mandates: conducting trials, implementing reforms, and holding the national election, with the final mandate being the execution of the national election.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farida Akhter highlighted the government’s sincere attempts to create an environment where voters can confidently choose their preferred candidates. She made these remarks to journalists after casting her vote and visiting the polling center at Ananda School (Government Jamila Ainul Ananda School and College) in the Mohammadpur area of the capital during the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election and Referendum-2026.
Farida Akhter observed that voters are actively participating in electing their candidates without any external influence. She remarked on the evident enthusiasm among the people regarding the voting process. She also noted the orderly conduct of polling booths and the professionalism and diligence of the officials on duty.
She further mentioned that efforts have been undertaken to ensure the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election and Referendum-2026 takes place in an open and democratic setting, and that the election is proceeding successfully.
