Lakshmipur: BNP candidate Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee from the Lakshmipur-3 constituency expressed satisfaction with the overall voting environment in the morning after casting his vote. He remarked that the long-awaited hopes of the people are on the verge of realization, noting the struggle endured for this election. Anee stated, ‘So far, the voting environment has been very good. If the voting environment is like this, and people can vote in a festive atmosphere, then I am optimistic about my victory.’ He shared these views with reporters after casting his vote at the Lamchari Government Primary School polling center in the town.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Dr. Rezaul Karim Choupalli also cast his vote at the Kalidas High School polling center, expressing optimism about his victory and satisfaction with the voting atmosphere. Voting commenced in a festive mood at 496 polling centers across four constituencies in Lakshmipur from 7:30 am, amid tight security measures. The morning saw a higher turnout of women voters compared to men.
A total of 29 candidates, including those from BNP, Jamaat, and NCP, are competing in the four constituencies. The district is home to 1,637,956 registered voters. To ensure law and order, approximately 10,000 personnel from various law enforcement agencies, including police, RAB, BGB, and Ansar, are deployed in the field.
