Dhaka: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui on Tuesday instructed BGB members to decisively prevent any attempts at sabotage, violence, or chaos during the upcoming election.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the BGB DG issued these directives while meeting with BGB personnel at several election base camps in the capital and surrounding areas. His tour included visits to Mugda Ideal School and College, Uttara Haji Camp in Dhaka, and Tongi BGB camp in Gazipur, where he assessed the preparedness of BGB for maintaining law and order.
During the visits, Major General Siddiqui reviewed security arrangements and discussed plans for ensuring election security, emphasizing the importance of proper implementation. He instructed the BGB members to perform their duties with utmost professionalism, dedication, and neutrality, warning that any negligence in maintaining law and order would not be tolerated.
The BGB chief also urged personnel to maintain high vigilance levels, advocating for the establishment of check posts and conducting search operations.
