Khagrachhari: All necessary preparations in Khagrachhari hill district are completed for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and Referendum. District returning officer sources said the Election Commission administration began dispatching election materials to the Khagrachhari constituency from Wednesday morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 6,683 members of law enforcement agencies have been deployed to ensure security in 203 polling centers of the constituency, in addition to installing CCTV cameras. District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Anwar Sadat expressed satisfaction with the voting environment in the parliamentary constituency of Khagrachhari.
A total of 11 candidates, including independents and nominees from various political parties, are in the race. Among the deployed security personnel, 2,530 members are from the Army, 560 members from BGB, 940 police personnel, 14 members of RAB, and 2,639 ansars. Additionally, 18 executive magistrates, four judicial magistrates, 203 presiding officers, 1,100 assistant presiding officers, and 1,200 polling officers have been appointed to ensure a smooth election process.
The total number of voters in the nine upazilas of the constituency is 545,688, with 276,013 male voters and 269,671 female voters. Election materials and security personnel have been sent by helicopter to remote polling centers, including Naraichhari in Babuchhara Union of Dighinala upazila and Phultachhari and Shuknachhari in Bomachhari Union of Lakshmichhari upazila.
